Oregon Marijuana Tax Act (2010)

An Oregon Marijuana Tax Act may be on the November 2010 ballot in Oregon as an initiated state statute.[1]
Initiative language has been filed with the Oregon Secretary of State by three different sets of chief petitioners that would in one way or another legalize marijuana and thus allow it to be taxes.
The tax initiative is sponsored by the Campaign for the Restoration and Regulation of Hemp (CRRH), a group dedicated to educate people about the medicinal and industrial uses for cannabis.[2]
Path to the ballot
Initiative petitions for statutes require six percent of 1,379,475, or 82,769 signatures. The deadline for filing signatures for the November 2010 ballot is July 2, 2010.
