A City of Oroville Utility Users Tax, Measure A
was on the November 2, 2010 ballot
for voters in the City of Oroville in Butte County
. It was approved.
Measure A expanded the types of utilities to which Oroville's utility tax applies to include communication services, including telecommunications and video services regardless of the technology deployed. The tax rate was to be reduced from 5% to 4.5%.
Oroville has had a utility tax, or telephone tax, since 1969.
A simple majority vote was required for approval.
