Orting & Fire District 18 Annexation, Commissioner Increase Measures (April 2010)

Three Orting & Fire District 18 Annexation, Commissioner Increase Measures were on the April 27, 2010 ballot in the city of Orting and Fire District 18 which are in Pierce County.

All three of these measures were approved
Orting Annexation measure:

  • YES 824 (79%)Approveda
  • NO 219 (21%)

Fire District Annexation measure:

  • YES 1,007 (81.6%)Approveda
  • NO 227 (18.4%)

Fire District Commissioner measure:

  • YES 759 (61.01%)Approveda
  • NO 465 (38.99%)[1]

The two annexation measures sought to authorize the city of Orting to be annexed into the Fire Protection District 18 area, both the city and residents in the district voted on the issue.

The Fire Protection District was also asking district voters to increase the number of commissioners from 3 members to 5.

The text of the commissioner measure reads as follows:
Increasing the Number of Commissioners - Pierce County Fire Protection District No. 18
Shall the Board of Commissioners of Pierce County Fire Protection District No. 18 be increased from three members to five members?
