The Oshkosh Area School District Elementary School Bond or Question 1 was a school bond measure on the April 7 ballot in the Oshkosh Area School District which is in Winnebago County. The referendum was brought to the ballot by the school board, and it sought to issue debt in the amount of $15,000,000. The debt funds would be used to pay for the construction of a new elementary school on Ryf Road. This new school would replace the existing Oaklawn Elementary School and the former Sunset Elementary School. The building would stand two stories and cover 88,529 square feet. The goal is to use it for academics during the day and for the community in the evenings. ^[1]

Defeated, with 10,165 "no" votes and 3,777 "yes" votes. ^[2]

Wording of referendum

Be it resolved by the School Board of the Oshkosh Area School District, Winnebago County, Wisconsin, that there shall be issued, pursuant to Chapter 67, Wisconsin Statutes, General Obligation Bonds in an amount not to exceed $15,000,000 for the purpose of paying the costs of constructing and equipping a new elementary school to replace the existing Oaklawn Elementary School and former Sunset Elementary School to be lcoated [sic] on the Ryf Road property currently owned by the Oshkosh Area School District. ^[3]
