Oviedo City Charter Amendments, 5 (November 2010)
Five Oviedo City Charter Amendment measures were on the November 2, 2010 ballot in the city of Oviedo, which is in Seminole County.
Four of the five measures were approved
The first amendment sought to require the city council to fill vacant positions within 30 days and allow the Mayor to cast a vote if there is a tie between Council members.
The second amendment sought to allow the Council to elect a member to preside over the meetings as opposed to the Mayor who currently presides.
The third amendment sought to clarify that 3 votes would be needed by the council to discharge the City Manager.
The fourth amendment sought to make it mandatory for the city to have a Police and Fire Department unless the council votes otherwise.
The fifth amendment sought to clarify that the Council can issue further bonds if put to a referendum vote. [1]
