A Pacific Grove School District parcel tax election, also known as Measure X, appeared on the November 4, 2008 ballot for voters residing in the Pacific Grove school district in Monterey, California.
If approved, the ballot measure approves a $35 per parcel tax levy for 5 years.
To pass, a supermajority approval of 66.67% of voters was required.
Measure X was approved with 76.45% of the vote.
The full text on the ballot was:
- To preserve the educational quality of our schools in the face of Statewide budget cuts; to maintain programs including but not limited to science, math, music, and art; to maintain small class sizes, and library and computer lab staff; and enhance student safety and campus maintenance; shall Pacific Grove Unified School District levy tax of $35 per parcel for 5 years so long as no money is used for administrative salaries, and citizens’ oversight committee is established?
