Environment: "...Support of job creation and protection of our environment are not mutually exclusive; the two concepts can work together. The entire country will be looking to these National Forests and Wilderness areas for enjoyment as they are held in trust for all Americans. I will always be an advocate for the public’s right to have access to the rivers and streams of Montana."

Education: "Every Montanan has the right to a college education no matter what the student chooses to study. Legislators in the last session eroded access to higher education by refusing to fully fund the university and college system. In fact, $45 million was cut from Montana’s University system causing a 10% increase in tuition for students. I will support returning that funding to the University system...."

Children's medical care: "...It is of utmost importance for families to have access to preventative care because that care keeps children healthy. Healthy children will do better in school, will have better outcomes in life, and will contribute to our society rather than cost society."

Small Business: "...We will continue to attract businesses to Montana by doing the things that make people want to move here, like maintaining the beauty of our state and providing good schools. Our overall tax situation is excellent and we have a great pool of educated people to take on new jobs. I support our economic development agencies that offer loan support for new and established businesses. I would like to see the passenger railroad pass through Missoula again."

Economy: "...Tough times are exactly the time to use a bit of our rainy day fund to invest in Montana’s future and, simultaneously, provide jobs."
