Her professional career had been in the field of long term care. She spent the first 20 years after earning her bachelor's degree working as an administrator for various adult care and residence communities. Later, she became a consultant for both non-profit and for profit small businesses in the long term care industry. She also acquired a small business of her own.
Delission earned her B.S. in Health Planning & Administration from Pennsylvania State University.[1]

Delissio ran in the 2012 election for Pennsylvania House District 194. Delissio defeated Ray Bailey in the Democratic primary on April 24 and defeated Linda Bateman (R) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]

Delissio won election to the 194th District seat in 2010. She defeated Lou Agre, Joshua Cohen, Bill Morris, and Keith Newman in the May 18 Democratic primary election and Republican Timothy Downey and Green Hugh Giordano in the November 2 general election.[4]
