This measure sought to renew the school property tax which was set at a rate of .25 mills for a further two years in order to continue to help pay for critical needs of the schools.[2] School officials were promoting this measure through word of mouth rather than a large print or TV campaign. But they were stressing that this would not increase any taxes, just keep the current rate and that the money was important to the school district.[3]
