In a statement submitted to Ballotpedia, Richardson said: "In my lifetime, I have seen myself changed so much over the years and I give all thanks to God for allowing me such an opportunity to improve as my life literally changed as I grew into adulthood. I am a very open-minded person who believes in listening to others as they share their perspective on life events, and I am the person who is willing to offer my thoughts and possible solution to improve any type of situation. I am huge on helping others and committed to ensuring family and friends have the necessities of life. It is not only my belief but my personal goal to be a stand-up respectable, honest, hard-working, and Christian individual because it is the only way that I know how to be."
Additionally, he stated: "It is my goal to educate everyone the young, the old, male, female, poor, middle class, rich, Blacks, Whites, Hispanics on the importance of voting and how to vote. Everyone eligible to vote need to exercise their right to vote in not only the General Elections but Primary Elections and Special Elections as well."
