Lodge graduated with her Bachelor's degree from Marylhurst University in 1964.
Lodge has been the president of a vineyard since 1988. She served as a consultant to Catholic schools in Idaho starting in 1999. She is also a retired teacher who taught in Idaho's public schools from 1968 to 1999.

Lodge won election in the 2012 election for Idaho State Senate District 11. Redistricting placed Lodge into District 11 with incumbent Melinda Smyser (R), leading to a potential 2012 faceoff between the two. However, Smyser decided not to run for re-election, leaving Lodge in the Republican primary against Maurice Clements.[1] Lodge defeated Clements in the primary and defeated Victoria Brown (D) in the November 6 general election.[2][3]
