Paulina Miranda is a 2014 Democratic candidate for District 8 of the California State Senate. She ran unsuccessfully for District 16 of the California State Senate in a 2013 special election.[1]

Miranda earned her B.S. from the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

Elections for the office of California State Senate will take place in 2014. A primary election took place June 3, 2014. The general election will be held on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 7, 2014. Incumbent Tom Berryhill (R) and Paulina Miranda (D) were unopposed in the blanket primary. Berryhill will face Miranda in the general election.[2][3]

Miranda ran in a special election for California State Senate District 16. The seat was vacant following Michael J. Rubio's (D) resignation on February 22, 2013 to accept a job with Chevron. Miranda was defeated in the special election, which took place on May 21, 2013.[4][5][6][7][1]
