Martin earned his BA from Providence College in 1964. He then attended Boston College of Social Work from 1965 to 1966. He went on to receive his MBA from Bryant College in 1977.
Martin has worked in the following positions: Web Site Developer, Real Estate Investor, and Software Application and Product Marketing Consultant.
In 2009, Martin joined the Rhode Island House of Representatives. He has served in that position since, representing the 75th District.
