Phil Poole is a 2014 Democratic candidate for District 21 of the Alabama State Senate.

Poole was a member of the Alabama State Senate, representing the 21st District from 1994 to 2010. Previously he was a member of the Alabama House of Representatives from 1982 through 1994. He received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Alabama School of Law.

Elections for the office of Alabama State Senate will take place in 2014. A primary election took place June 3, 2014; a runoff election took place where necessary on July 15, 2014. The general election will be held on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 7, 2014. Phil Poole was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Gerald Allen defeated Frank Chandler in the Republican primary. Poole will face Allen in the general election.[1][2][3][4]

Poole ran for re-election to the 21st District seat in 2010. He had no primary opposition. He was defeated by Gerald Allen in the November 2 general election.[5]

2006

On November 7, 2006, Poole won re-election to the 21st District Seat in the Alabama State Senate, defeating opponent Joe Nathan Saxton, Sr. (R).[6]

Poole raised $221,127 for his campaign, while Saxton raised none.[7]

On November 5, 2006, Poole won re-election to the 21st District Seat in the Alabama State Senate, defeating opponents Jerry Tingle (R) and Jean Allen (Lib).[8]
