Potvin is the retired Chief Executive Officer of Western Concrete. He retired in 2006. He is also a life-long member of the Michigan National Guard.
Potvin graduated from the Michigan Military Academy and holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Albion College.
