A new scam in St. Joseph County, Indiana is attempting to commit vote fraud in a new way, over the phone. A South Bend woman received a phone call from someone pretending to be an election official. The person on the phone informed the woman, who did not want to be identified, that this year Indiana is allowing over the phone voting. After giving the caller her information and vote choices, the caller told her that her vote had been recorded. [1]

St. Joseph County Board of Elections member Murray Winn commented that 'If you think you voted by phone, you're wrong. They haven't voted at all. It's some sort of scam," There are only three ways to vote in Indiana, absentee ballot, early voting, and voting on election day. Anyone who suspects voter fraud or who receives a similar call should contact the police department.[1]
