Pond worked as a Kindergarten Teacher with East Allen County Schools from 1951-1954 and 1961-1998. She has also been a Kindergarten Teacher with Plymouth, Indiana Schools, and a Home Economic Teacher at Raleigh High School and Eaton, Indiana.
Pond is a member of the Allen County Republican Women's Club, Lutheran Church, National Order of Women Legislators, and the New Haven Women's Club.[1]

Pond won re-election in the 2012 election for Indiana House of Representatives District 85. Pond defeated Denny Worman in the May 8 Republican primary[2] and defeated Evan Smith (D) and Audrey Queckboerner (Constitution) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012. [3][4]
