A Pike County R-III School District Levy Increase measure was on the August 3 ballot in the R-III school district which is in Lincoln County.

This measure sought to increase local property taxes by $.45 to make the over tax $4.01 per $100 of assessed value in order to help maintain facilities as well as staff members.[2]


The question on the ballot:

Shall the Board of Education of the Pike

County R-III School District, Missouri, be authorized to increase the operating tax levy ceiling by $0.45 to $4.0141 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation in order to retain qualified staff, maintain its facilities and meet the operating expenses of the District? (If this proposition is approved, the resulting adjusted operating levy will increase from $3.5641, currently, to $4.0141 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation for the 2010 Tax Year and to be applied to the assessed valuation for each year thereafter.)[3]
