This measure sought to increase the current county Health Community Fund levy to a rate of $5.50 per year per $100,000 of assessed property value for a further six years. County officials sought this increase due to the increased demand for services by residents in the county combined with the recession and lower property tax rates. The fund supports 61 different local organizations that offer a variety of services.[2]
