Plattsmouth Sales Tax Proposal, 2009
If the measure is passed to the ballot and enacted by a public vote, it would increase the city sales tax by .5 percent. According to city officials, the revenue collected from the tax would be used for “sidewalk and street improvements and maintenance”.
Councilman Rod Jenkins was the only council member to vote against the sales tax. He stated a concern that the sales tax purpose is not specified when he commented: “That’s been the whole purpose all along…that should be mentioned.”
