Polly Bukta (b. April 3, 1937) was a Democratic member of the Iowa House of Representatives. She represented the 26th District from 1997 to 2011. During that time she served as House Speaker Pro Tempore.

Bukta is a teacher.

She is a member of the American Association of University Women, Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce, Clinton County Democrats, Clinton Education Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, Iowa State Teachers Association, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and the National Education Association.[1]

2008

On November 4, 2008, Bukta was re-elected to the 26th District Seat in the Iowa House of Representatives, defeating Jonathan Van Roekel (R).[2] Bukta raised $50,415 for her campaign, while Van Roekel raised $5,327.[3]
