A Pomona Utility Users Tax, Measure PC was on the November 3, 2009 ballot in Los Angeles County for voters in the City of Pomona, where it was approved.

  • Yes: 2,668 (59.65%) Approved
  • No: 1,805 (40.35%)

Measure PC expands the types of telecommunications the city can charge a tax on.[1]

The question asked on the ballot was, "Shall an ordinance be adopted to ratify and continue Pomona’s existing Utility Users Tax to fund general city services, including essential municipal services such as, police, fire, street repair, parks and libraries, provided that current exemptions remain, and the ordinance is updated to treat taxpayers equally regardless of telecommunication technology used?"

The city's current 9% utility users tax generates about $18 million a year for the city's general fund.[1]
