A Port Huron City Transportation Levy Increase measure was on the May 8, 2012 ballot in the city of Port Huron which is in St. Clair County.

This measure sought to increase the current property tax by a rate of $.62 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further four years in order to help pay for the city's share of the Blue Water Area Transportation Commission.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the limitation on the total amount of all taxes which may be assessed against all real and personal taxable property in the City of Port Huron, St. Clair County, Michigan, be increased up to 0.6214 mills of the taxable valuation (62.14 cents per $1,000 of state taxable value) as finally equalized for each of the next four (4) years, to expire in 2016, for the purpose of providing funds, estimated to be $420,000 for the first year of levy, for the City of Port Huron's share of the operation of the Blue Water Area Transportation Commission for the period of July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2016? This is a renewal of a 2008 millage psassed for the same Purpose.
