A vote about whether to recall Jim Stoneburner and Jill Owens from their positions on the Prairieville Township board took place on August 3, 2010. Stoneburner and Owens were both retained in office.[1][2]

Jim Stoneburner:

  • Votes to recall Stoneburner: 440 Defeatedd
  • Votes to keep Stoneburner: 527

Jill Owen:

  • Votes to recall Owen: 429 Defeatedd
  • Votes to keep Owen: 469

Recall supporters

The official recall petition filed by Barry County residents alleged that the board is guilty of "negligent spending, violating the Michigan Open Meetings Act and Freedom of Information Act and general irresponsible governing."[1]

In a clarity hearing on October 22, 2009, election officials approved the petition language.
