SAN FRANCISCO, California: Closing arguments in the trial on a federal lawsuit seeking to overturn Proposition 8 have been tentatively scheduled for June 16. The lawsuit says that California's ban on same-sex marriage violates the U.S. Constitution.

The federal judge in the case, Vaughn Walker, heard two weeks of testimony in January 2010. Since then, he has been studying papers and briefs filed by both sides, and adjudicating a variety of procedural issues in the case, including questions about access to internal campaign documents.[1]
