A Prospect Heights School District 23 Levy Increase measure was on the April 5, 2011 ballot in the Prospect Heights school district area which is in Cook County.

This measure was defeated

  • YES 760 (29.45%)
  • NO 1,821 (70.55%)Defeatedd[1]

This measure sought to increase the current property tax rate in order to help with additional needs of the district as well as to help reconfigure some schools so students attend the same school with their grade.[2] The tax increase would have been at a rate of .35 percent and some local residents would rather see alternative funding for the school rather than an increase in their taxes. School officials noted that a projected $1.6 million would need to be cut from the school budget since this measure was not approved.[3]
