Raymond Walter is a Republican member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 146 since 2013. He previously represented District 148 from 2012 to 2013. He was first elected in the November 8, 2011 special election and was sworn in on January 3, 2012. The special election was called to fill the vacancy created when James Hayes (R) resigned to accept a private sector finance job.[1]

Walter ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 146. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on September 13, 2012. He also ran on the Conservative Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. He defeated Joanne A. Schultz in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
