A Redwood City Creation of a Library Board, Measure X ballot proposition was on the November 3, 2009 ballot in San Mateo County for voters in Redwood City, where it was approved.

• Yes: 4,305 (59.6%)
• No: 2,918 (40.4%)

Measure X amends the City Charter to:

• Create a seven member Library Board
• All members of the Library Board would be appointed by the City Council
• Provide for the Library Board to establish rules for its proceedings
• The City Council would set forth the authority and duties of the Library Board

Redwood City has had a city charter since 1929. The city charter has been amended 14 times, with the last amendment taking place in 2007.
