One down ballot state executive position is up for election in the state of Rhode Island in 2014. The lone down ballot office on the ballot in 2014 is the Rhode Island Treasurer. The general election takes place November 4, 2014.

Incumbent Gina Raimondo (D) did not file for re-election in 2014, opting instead to run for governor. Newcomer Seth Magaziner (D) will face independent candidate and former auditor general Ernest Almonte in the general election.

Rhode Island is one of 21 states with a mixed primary system. Unaffiliated voters may vote in a party's primary, but they will then be considered affiliated with that party. In order to disaffiliate, they must file a "Change of Party Designation" form.[1]
