PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island: Members of the Rhode Island Legislature ended session on June 11, 2010, without passing any initiative legislation that was introduced during the 2009-2010 session[1].

Legislators took up seven pieces of legislation including six bills and an amendment to the Rhode Island Constitution to implement the initiative process. Also, a proposal calling for a constitutional convention was considered during the legislative session[2]. None of the seven proposals advanced out of committee[3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9].
