McCluskey ran in the 2011 election for Mississippi House of Representatives District 102, but lost to incumbent Toby Barker in the primary on August 2, 2011. Democratic candidate David Cook ran unopposed in the August 2 Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 8, 2011.[1]
