Dunn told the Reno Gazette-Journal that he wanted the Legislature to approve a study "to document the 'economic epidemiology' of runaway health-care costs," with resulting savings being used towards a high-speed rail line between Las Vegas and Reno. He also voiced support for promoting Nevada businesses internationally.[1]

Dunn ran in the 2012 election for Nevada State Assembly, District 40. Dunn ran unopposed in the June 12 primary election and was defeated by incumbent Pete Livermore (R) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3][4][5]
