Liebert supports the death penalty, a public employee pension plan that draws from both the state surplus and employee contributions, and limited wolf hunting. He opposes a statewide law regulating the use of cellular telephones, as well as "Right to Work bills that don’t allow consent and cooperation."
Liebert ran in the 2012 election for Montana House of Representatives, District 19. Liebert ran unopposed in the June 5 primary election and was defeated by Roger A. Hagan (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.
