Floyd worked for Chattanooga Coca-Cola and is currently retired.

Floyd won re-election in the 2012 election for Tennessee House of Representatives, District 27. Floyd defeated Basil Marceaux, Sr. in the August 2 primary election and defeated Frank Eaton (D) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2]
