Lewandowski was running in the 2012 election for Illinois State Senate District 14. Lewandowski was set to face off against incumbent Emil Jones in the Democratic primary on March 20, 2012, but withdrew from the race on January 9, 2012.[1] The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
