Elections for the office of New Hampshire State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on September 9, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 13, 2014. Richard Leonard was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Sam Cataldo was unopposed in the Republican primary. Leonard and Cataldo faced off in the general election.[1] Incumbent Cataldo defeated Leonard in the general election, and was re-elected for another term.[2]

Leonard ran in the 2012 election for New Hampshire State Senate, District 6.[3] Leonard ran unopposed in the September 11th Democratic primary election and was defeated by Sam Cataldo (R) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[4][5]
