Mirabito earned his BS in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University in 1978. He went on to receive his JD from Boston College Law School.
Mirabito has worked in the following positions: Law Clerk for United States District Court Judge Malcolm Muir, Union Organizer, Court Counsel for the Supreme Court of the Republic of Palau, Landlord, and Attorney.
Mirabito was a candidate for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2006 but was not elected. He then joined the Pennsylvania House in 2009. He has served in that position since, representing the 83rd District.

Mirabito ran in the 2012 election for Pennsylvania House District 83. Mirabito ran unchallenged in the Democratic primary on April 24 and defeated Harry Rogers (R) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2]
2010
Mirabito won re-election to the 83rd District Seat in 2010. He had no primary opposition and defeated Republican Dave Huffman in the general election which took place on November 2, 2010.[3]
