Richard Ravitch is a former Lieutenant Governor of New York. He was appointed by Gov. David Paterson on July 8, 2009. Ravitch served until 2010.[1]

In this position, he also served as President of the New York State Senate.


Ravitch has operated a real estate development firm since graduating from law school. His professional experience included stints as chairman of the Bowery Savings Bank and a representative of Major League Baseball owners during negotiations with players. Ravitch has also been appointed to the New York State Urban Development Corporation and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.[1]

Lieutenant Governor of New York (2009-2010)

Ravitch was appointed as lieutenant governor by David Paterson on July 8, 2009. He served through 2010, when successor Robert Duffy was elected.[1]
