Riverside No Pension Changes Without a Public Vote, Measure L (November 2010)
Measure L prevents the Riverside County Board of Supervisors from changing the county's pension system for public safety employees without a public vote.
Measure L is supported by the Riverside Sheriffs Association. This is a union of the county's sheriff's deputies.
Measure L was in opposition to Measure M.
Both competing measures received a majority vote, but Measure M received a higher number of affirmative votes than Measure L.
Election results are from the Riverside County elections division as of November 24, 2010.
A simple majority vote was required for approval. However, the fact that competing Measure M received more affirmative votes than Measure L may mean that where the measures conflict, the provisions of Measure M will go into effect rather than those of Measure L.
