Kauffman ran in the 2012 election for Pennsylvania House District 89. Kauffman ran unchallenged in the Republican primary on April 24 and defeated Susan Spicka (D) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2]

Kauffman won re-election to the 89th District Seat in 2010. He had no primary opposition and defeated independent Blyden Potts in the general election which took place on November 2, 2010.[3]
