Butler ran in the 2012 election for Idaho House of Representatives District 31A. He lost against Neil Anderson, Mike Duff and R. David Moore in the Republican primary on May 15, 2012. Barbara Ann Clark was unopposed in the Democratic primary.[1] The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
