Robert Coblentz was a 2012 Republican candidate seeking election to the U.S. House representing the 6th Congressional District of Maryland. Coblentz was defeated by incumbent Roscoe Bartlett in the Republican primary on April 3, 2012.[1]

Biography

Coblentz was born at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, Illinois and resided on a farm in Middletown until the age of 8. [2] Coblentz graduated from Walkersville High School and attended Salisbury University, Maryland. Robert received a B.S. Degree in Management Information Systems with Cum Laude honors from Salisbury University. [2]

Career

Coblentz is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and is employed as a systems analyst at an online university. [2]

Coblentz ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Maryland's 6th District. Coblentz sought the nomination on the Republican ticket, but he was defeated by incumbent Roscoe Bartlett in the April 3, 2012 primary. [3]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run was January 11, 2012.[4]

Personal

Coblentz and his wife, Katie, moved to Williamsport, Maryland in early 2008. They currently reside in Williamsport with their dog, Cooper. [2]
