Elections
2012
Canfield lost to Tammy Duckworth.[3] Canfield ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Illinois' 8th District.[4] The signature filing deadline was December 27, 2011, with the primary taking place on March 20, 2012. Incumbent Joe Walsh had sought re-election on the Republican ticket.
Canfield was removed from the official candidate list on January 24, 2012 [1] However, he challenged the removal and instead ran as a write in candidate. He was defeated by Tammy Duckworth (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[5]
