Kilichowski ran in the 2012 election for North Dakota Senate District 19. Kilichowski and Carol Gierszewski ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on June 12. The were defeated by incumbents Gary Paur and Wayne Trottier in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2]
