Matzie earned his AA in High Technology Communications from the Community College of Beaver County. He went on to receive his BA in Journalism/Communications from Point Park University.
Matzie is a Radio Show Host for WMBA Radio.
Matzie has served as a Beaver County Representative at the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee. He has also served as a Field Office Representative for the Office of Commonwealth Senator Gerald J. LaValle. From 2003 to 2004, he was Mayor of Ambridge. In 2009, Matzie joined the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He has served in that position since, representing the 16th District.
