Mettler was a candidate for District 17 of the New Jersey General Assembly. He was defeated in the November 8 general election. Mettler and Carlo Dilalla ran unopposed in the Republican Primary on June 7. Joseph Egan and Upendra Chivukula ran unopposed in the Democratic primary.[1]
