Robert Olson is a Republican member of the Kansas State Senate, representing District 23 since January 11, 2011. Olson was elected to the Senate after the resignation of Karin Brownlee, who was appointed the new Kansas Labor Secretary. [1] Prior to becoming a senator, Olson was a member of the Kansas House of Representatives from 2005 to January 11, 2011. he served as the Majority Whip.

Olson refused to take Project Vote Smart's 2008 Political Courage Test. Olson won re-election in the 2012 election for Kansas State Senate District 23. Olson ran unopposed in the August 7 Republican primary and defeated Steve Wright (D) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[5][6][7]
