Paxton ran in the 2012 election for Arkansas House of Representatives District 51. Paxton ran unopposed in the May 22 Libertarian primary, and was defeated by Democrat Deborah Ferguson in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2] No Republican ran in this contest.[3]
