A vote about whether to recall Roger Swanepoel, Carlton Cress, and Douglas Karau from their positions on the Forest, Wisconsin, town board took place on February 15th, 2011. All three officials were recalled.[1]

Reasons for recall

The recall effort was initiated after the recall targets voted to approve permits and sign a development agreement for a $250 million wind energy project that would have seen 39 turbines installed throughout the town.[2]

Path to the ballot

50 signatures were required to force a recall. Recall organizers submitted 93 signatures.

  • Votes for Jamie Junker: 194 Approveda
  • Votes for Carlton Cress: 123
  • Votes for Rick Steinberger: 207 Approveda
  • Votes for Douglas Karau: 113
  • Votes for Patrick Scepurek: 185 Approveda
