On April 29, 2013, George informally announced that he will run for Governor of Maryland in the 2014 elections. He plans to officially launch his gubernatorial campaign on June 5.[1]
George is owner of State House Inn, and Ron George Jewelers, Incorporated.
He is a member of the Tax and Fiscal Policy Task Force, American Legislative Exchange Council, Sportsmen's Caucus, State Commission on the Capital City, and Veteran's Caucus.[2]

George has stated his intention to run for election as Governor of Maryland in 2014. He will seek the Republican nomination in the primary election. The general election will take place on November 4, 2014.[1]
2010
George successfully won re-election in the general election on November 2, 2010. He took the first of three seats in the district.[3]
2006
On November 7, 2006, Ron George ran for District 30 of the Maryland House of Delegates, winning the third of three seats, losing to Michael Busch and Virginia Clagett but beating Barbara Samorajczyk, Andy Smarick, Ron Elfenbein, and David Whitney. [4]
